The Mummy is a blockbuster adventure movie with great special effects, scary scenes and creatures as well as tongue in cheek humor. It is similar in style to the Indiana Jones movies. Two teams of Americans are seeking ancient Egyptian treasure based on both legend and written history. During their treasure hunt the teams unwittingly unleash an evil mummy, plagues and legions of scary creatures that protect the ancient Egyptian burial grounds. An entertaining movie regardless of the plausiblilty of the story.

One of my top 10 adventure movies. It starts off a little awkward but as the movie continues things really get going. There are some excellent funny bits and the interactions between the main characters are just great.

A lot of fun, with good special effects, a fine choice in casting, and terrific chemistry between the two leads. Perfect kind of summer movie.

The Mummy is an awesome action flick and one of my all time favorite movies. I can watch it over and over and I never tire of it. It has all the elements of a great popcorn flick: tons of humor, plenty of action, and great special effects. It also has a touch of suspense and spookiness that makes it even more enjoyable. I highly recommend this movie to anybody, and everybody!

Evelyn: Look, I... I may not be an explorer, or an adventurer, or a treasure-seeker, or a gunfighter, Mr. O'Connell, but I am proud of what I am. Rick: And what is that? Evelyn: I... am a librarian.
