Add a CommentAnn Burden is the only one left after a nuclear war has seemingly made the world radioactive. Her family's small farm escaped the devastation because it is nestled in a deep valley, After a year on her own she sees a man. He is wearing a protective suit and facemask and is pulling a cart. She is cautious but after a time welcomes him into her home and her life. He suffers radiation sickness, survives, and then the dynamic changes. The author handles this situation well. I have read quite a few of end of the world stories and this one was a bit of a twist on the normal endings. You may not see it coming.
