Quotes
Add a QuotePhil: You wanna throw up here, or you wanna throw up in the car? Ralph: I think... both.
Phil: Well, what if there is no tomorrow? There wasn't one today.
Phil: Do you ever have déjà vu, Mrs. Lancaster? Mrs. Lancaster: I don't think so, but I could check with the kitchen.
Phil: I was in the Virgin Islands once. I met a girl. We ate lobster, drank piña coladas. At sunset, we made love like sea otters. [Ralph and Gus snort] Phil: *That* was a pretty good day. Why couldn't I get *that* day over, and over, and over...

I can't change my review any longer, so I apologize for adding this. The link I provided at the end of the review has changed: http://www.nationalreview.com/articles/228088/movie-all-time/jonah-goldberg. (The article is really worth reading!)
Bill Murray is a wonderful actor and this movie brings out some of his best. He finds himself living the same day over and over, and eventually learns to become a better person. A much better movie than this review! It is very funny with some good life lessons.
One of my all-time favorites -- very funny and yet profound at the same time. The transformation of the main character from a self-absorbed jerk who cannot escape the time loop he finds himself into until he decides to make something of himself is actually a quasi-Buddhist parable of awakening... all of that in the trappings of a well-paced, well-scripted, well-acted comedy.
This is the closest thing to a modern Frank Capra movie I have found, and is totally brought to life by a wonderful performance by Bill Murray. And while I would have appreciated it more if it had been a little darker it is still a great movie. The script is well written and the movie is well acted. I would recommend this to fans of the more science fiction type romantic comedies.
Overall, a pretty terrific movie, but I still would've preferred a more unexpected ending.
Love Bill Murray! He is awesome.
I agree with comedy writing teacher Steve Kaplan; this is the best romantic comedy of the last 35 years.

This is my all-time favorite movie and, in my view, where Bill Murray is at his best (second to the first Ghost Busters). It has even become a joke in our family to poke fun at each other with lines from GHD, like "Don't drive angry"! At first, I watched it for the fun. After all, only Bill Murray can make me laugh hard by just standing there and staring, either with a quizzical or an utterly blank look. But then I started seeing another side to the story, deeper, with a message. As I am no movie critic, I can only say that, in my humble view, the selfish, bitter, megalomanously egocentric character Bill Murray plays, suffers a radical transformation throughout the movie. The ones who have had the luck of seeing a butterfly come out of a cocoon will certainly forgive me for comparing the Phil of the beginning of the movie with an imprisoned larva, and the one at the end with the hesitantly delicate butterfly slowly coming out to the world. If that's not enough to make you watch the movie, read this review from Jonah Goldberg--certainly a much better writer: "A Movie for All Time" http://old.nationalreview.com/flashback/goldberg200602020835.asp
