Awful movie. Cliche-ridden. Sexist. Horrible CGI. A waste of Brendan Frasier, who can do better than this.
Good for a family movie, but "not much meat on the bones". It was a take it or leave it for me.
AWFUL!! Simply awful. To say any more would be throwing good money after bad. I hesitated to rate this even 1/2 star but I hoped that will act as a warning. The film has absolutely NO saving graces or interesting qualities. There is nothing new, interesting, fun or engaging here. Any time spent on this movie is wasted. If you are in the mood for this sort of thing (a movie pitched at early teenage boys) you would do much better watching "Zathura: A Space Adventure (2005)."
This movie was full of great adventure scenes, and tons of uncertainty. And while this movie wasn't great Brendan Fraser still did as good a job as usual. I would recommend this for a family movie night, as I think adults will enjoy this as much as the children.
Modern take on the Jules Verne story incorporates the book itself into the plot. A likeable cast gets swamped by a director who throws one special effect after another at the audience, which hurts the movie. Hopefully the bloody 3D craze comes to an end, because in this one, even in the 2D format, it hurt the story. The film feels like a video game or an amusement park at times, and that's annoying. Another director with respect for story would have shown more restraint then let themselves get carried away with special effects to such a degree.
A great family movie! LOTS of humor too! =)
A decent Sci-Fi movie. If your older than 16, you're probably get bored of the unrealistic plot and creatures that randomly spawn inside the Earth.
A fun movie without a deep plot. The movie was made to showcase 3D including the plot. The glasses were included in the case (nice).
Kinda boring but had it's moments. If you got time to kill...Peace, John
