Add a Commenta cute movie, although the songs seamed to drag on, and I found john travolts as a woman a little disturbingbut all around a good movie.
Admittedly, not the Musical type, it was a good film and especially entertianing to see Travolta, Momma Mia!
I don't know how anyone, no matter what your mood going into this movie, can come out feeling anything but happy. In other words, a perfect musical!
At first I thought Hairspray wouldn't be for me. I have never seen the original. It took me 3 years to get around to watching Hairspray and I'm thankful I did! This movie is a favorite! Usually I'm not crazy for musicals or Zac Efron but the cast does such a wonderful job that it's very hard not to fall in love with the Hairspray story. This is my go-to for days when I'm feeling down. It's that inspiring!
Stick with John Waters' version. Ricky Lake made a better Tracy Turnblad and Divine outshone Travolta as Tracy's mother. I say, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
A musical you'll want to watch over and over again!
An OK film, fairly well done, though it did get boring and almost abnocious at points. I guess the biggest reason that I was interested in it is that it was filmed less that a block from my house, but I guess it was pretty good film.
Not good, not bad.
Skip it. I never thought the original was any good and that's simply because, as a musical, the songs should be good - they were not. The story is tiresome as well.
A fabulous movie. I couldn't stop smiling. John Travolta in drag took a little getting used to, but he does such a marvelous job. Everyone does. A whole lot of fun all around.
